Day 1: Johannesburg to Balule Nature Reserve

Depart from Johannesburg and enjoy a scenic road transfer or alternatively a time-saving flight to the Balule via Hoedspruit. On arrival at your Balule safari camp, you will have time to check into your room and freshen up. All the tented style rooms are en-suite with inside baths and outside showers as well as small private viewing decks for an authentic safari experience.

The main lodge area boasts a viewing deck with boma fireplace and pool which overlooks a waterhole in front of the lodge. In the afternoon climb aboard an open 4x4 safari vehicle for your first game drive. Along the way, you will stop for sundowners and enjoy a true African sunset before starting the night game drive back to the lodge.

The night game drives offer an opportunity to spot the more elusive nocturnal animals. You arrive back at the camp in time for a scrumptious dinner on the deck under the African sky.

Day 2 - 3: On safari

Wake up at the crack of dawn and enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee before embarking on your morning safari. From your open safari vehicle, you can spot various wildlife such as the cheetah, wild dog, zebras, and the famous African Big 5, which include the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo.

Later, you will arrive back at the camp for a delicious breakfast. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and have a siesta, read a book or laze by the pool on the main deck. Take a warm jacket and head out on an evening game drive, ending with sundowner drinks overlooking gorgeous views in the bush. Back at the lodge, enjoy traditional meals and dine under the African sky.
