The Escape from it All Package Experience
The lodge is personally run by the owners who are passionate about what they do. They conduct every game drive and bush walk, prepare and serve every meal and ready each suite prior to guest check-in. Visitors are assured of superb “hands on” service and a very private safari. Meal times are a surprise - all food is bought fresh from the market each day and there is no set menu. Dinner and breakfast are always 3 course affairs and lunch is just as special. On game drives, guests enjoy neatly packed and delicious home prepared delights. Vegetarian meals and special dietary requirements are all catered for with flair. Just eight guests at a time enjoy this authentic safari experience in the Balule Nature Reserve.
Day 1: Johannesburg to Balule Nature Reserve
Depart Johannesburg on a self-drive fun family vacation towards the renowned Kruger National Park and Balule Nature Reserve. The journey takes about 5 hours. Arrive in time for lunch which is a magnificent affair, and you’re welcome to eat around the pool or on the viewing deck.
This safari lodge in Balule offers just four magnificently appointed chalets (one family unit with two rooms and one standard unit) sleeping only eight people. Spending quality family time together will kick off with your first afternoon safari. As the day begins to cool and the animals start to move, your sunset drive will stop for sundowners and then continue on into the night in search of wildlife encounters!
You will return to the lodge for a delicious freshly prepared dinner and then perhaps enjoy the Pub which is legendary for its wide selection of beverages and great bush atmosphere.
Game viewing activity: Afternoon game drive.
Day 2: Safari Lodge in Balule Nature Reserve
This morning you are up before sunrise for your game drive and you will stop for coffee somewhere in the bush. On this activitiy there is a maximum limit of eight guests on the game viewer.
After breakfast, the bush walk sets off to explore a different aspect of Big Five country. The smaller marvels and fascinations of the wilderness will be pointed out, from tiny flowers hiding under bushes to animal tracks and signs, birds and insects.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps relax on the beautiful swimming pool deck overlooking the river bed or spend time game viewing at the private waterhole. One can enjoy the daily parade of animals and birds coming to drink and feed in total peace and tranquillity.

Day 3: Safari Lodge in Balule Nature Reserve
For families vacationing with children, there are other optional activities (additional cost) in the area which you can enjoy. Attractions nearby include Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, Drakensig Golf Course, Khami Reptile Park, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and Kruger National Park (Phalaborwa gate).

Day 4: Balule Nature Reserve to Johannesburg
This is the final day of your Escape from it All South African safari package in the Balule Nature Reserve
After a morning safari activity and a scrumptious breakfast, you will say a fond farewell to your lodge until the next time, before departing for your return drive back to Johannesburg.
