Naledi offers guided game drives twice daily, at sunrise and sunset, when it’s not too hot, and the animals are most active. Iconic species to be found within Balule Game Reserve includes giraffe, zebra and kudu with prowling predators like lions and leopards not too far behind.
Midway through late afternoon drives, your guide will locate a scenic spot for sundowners and snacks, perfectly timed for sunset.
Naledi’s guides and trackers highly experienced, but also double up as charismatic safari hosts and storytellers in their own right. Whether following a leopard’s spoor through off-road terrain or pin-pointing bird calls from the surrounding trees, each guide strives to provide you with unforgettable, and intimate experience within the bounds of the Balule bush.
We love that Naledi offers a game hide so close to the lodge where you can slip off with your camera to dabble in some birdwatching and nature photography.
It’s located safely above the edge of the waterhole, and the staff will make sure you’re stocked up on refreshments. The Naledi Bush Lodge Hide is also a great spot to get comfy with a good book – you never know what might catch your eye between each chapter.
After a successful game drive and a sundowner or two, those lantern-lit dinners always a welcoming event. Naledi’s cuisine is always creative (there are no routine menus) and lovingly created by the team of chefs. Dishes range widely across European and African culinary styles and all dietary requirements are catered for.
