Spend a morning or afternoon on a 4x4 game drive. These drives last between 3-4 hours to increase your viewing chances. With the help of expert guides, you'll encounter some of the countless species at close quarters, and yes, even some of those Big 5’ers. At Chacma Bush Camp, each day promises something incredible and memorable, and being able to drive off-road is a plus here, allowing you to follow and track animals (like leopards) more closely. Evening game drives include a sundowner stop and continue into the night with the help of spotlights.
After a morning game drive, take a seat poolside to watch the birds frolicking around the camp. The Greater Kruger habitat accommodates a complete smorgasbord of birder’s delights; waterbirds such as herons, storks, and sandpipers are common along the edges of the waterhole. Chats, larks, cisticolas, and coucals are seen in the veld and woodlands. Don’t forget to look up, birds of prey are often seen circling above during bush drives and guided walks.
Meals are always a highlight at camp, and the Chacma menu is one of the best you’ll find. It includes a range of traditional African food combined with a flair for the modern. But, it’s not just back at camp that you can enjoy such delicious treats. During guided 4x4 drives, your guides will stop for coffee and snacks in the morning. Evening game drives will involve a traditional sundowner stop, complete with sweeping views of the Maseke Balule bushveld.
